Celebrating Black History Month; Rosa Louise McCauley was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on February 4, 1913. In December 1943, Rosa joined the Montgomery chapter of the NAACP and became chapter secretary. During this time, In Montgomery, unfortunately, segregation was written into law; the front of a Montgomery bus was reserved for white's and the seats behind them were for African American citizens. I was not tired physically… No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in". Monday, December 5, the day of Park's trial, there were more bus boycotts. On December 5, Parks was found guilty of violating segregation laws. As appeals and related lawsuits started, the Montgomery Bus Boycott angered much of Montgomery's white population, and Nixon's and Dr. King's homes were bombed. However, the violence didn't stop the boycotters or leaders, and this situation in Montgomery continued to gain more and more attention from the press. On November 13, 1956, the Supreme Court ruled that bus segregation was unconstitutional, which ended the boycott on December 20, after the Court's written order arrived in Montgomery. Rosa Park's became known as "the mother of the civil rights movement."
